Design It Up! (3)

For today’s lesson, you are going to learn how to make a Blog Button slideshow. This one is fairly easy, and should not take you but a couple of minutes to get the hang of.

As usual, start out by going to:

1.) Layout- Page Elements. Then:

2.) Add a gadget- HTML/Javascript

3.) Enter this code:

*To adjust the size, make the height or width px larger or smaller. It really depends on your sidebar. To make it go slow or faster, change the scroll delay.*

4.) Next input the code for the blog buttons underneath it. For example, this is what one of mine looks like: black is scroll code, pink is button code.

Traveling to Teens

If you want to add more than one, just go to the next line and input the next code. If you want there to be a space between codes use
. For example:

“http://travelingtoteenstours.weebly.com/” target=”_blank”>”http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt314/ylin0621/book3copy.jpg”/>

Note: you will have to do some playing with it, sometimes you need more than one break for it to work. So it would look like:

Marquee code (you only have to do this once)
Button code

Button code

etc.

5. Save it.

Please note that if you want to make changes to it later on by either adding or deleting buttons, you will need to go to your Page Elements area to fix it. If you try to alter it while on your blog with quick edit it may not work correctly. If this happens, unfortunately you will have to delete the gadget and start over new. Can be a pain, but if you copy and paste the code, or save it in a back-up document, then it is not too bad.
