In Review, 2012: Kate Edition

Book wise, 2012 was a great year. Plenty of new authors to explore. Lots of sequels. But 2012 books were not without their missteps as well. Here is a break down of my 2012 reading experience.

The Run Down:

5 star rating: 28 books

Standouts include:

For Darkness Shows the Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars #1) by Diana Peterfreund
The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns #2) by Rae Carson
Born Wicked (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #1) by Jessica Spotswood
Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy #1) by Wendy Higgins
The False Prince (The Ascendance Trilogy #1) by Jennifer A. Nielsen

4 star rating: 118 books

Standouts include:

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by
Pure (Pure #1) by Julianna Baggott
Skylark (Skylark #1) by Meagan Spooner
Defiance (The Courier's Daughter #1) by C.J. Redwine
Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst
Soulbound (Legacy of Tril #1) by Heather Brewer

3 star rating: 20 books

2 star rating / DNF: 4 books

Total Read: 170
Not a bad total if I say so myself. Although, I wish I had read more, I am pleased with what I got done.

We have two (cat) children, Gracie and Kit, who are total divas. I have an insane and possibly unhealthy passion for reading. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book.

  1. I also read about 170 books, and our statistics are quite similar. And, we have similar tastes, because I agree with many of your top picks. Hope 2013 is just as great!
