The Monster Report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Kate and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea's This Week in Books, Tynga's Stacking the Shelves, and Sheila's It's Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts also hosts a kidlit version of It's Monday, What are you Reading?

Kate is the co-blog owner of The Book Monsters. I am a twenty-something year old who is passionate about reading. I currently hold a B.A. in English and am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two (cat) children, Gracie and Kit, who are total divas. I have an insane and possibly unhealthy passion for reading. You can usually find me with my nose buried in a book.

whoa, did not realize Sever was already out. Must buy it for my library! I have heard Saga is absolutely fantastic. Thinking of picking it up this week.

  2. Hi there Kate and Kristen – you both have been exceedingly busy – lots of books read! Hope I can say the same for myself – I’ve read quite a lot but mostly picture books, not full-length novels recently. Lots of graphic novels here too, very interesting! Have a great reading week ahead of you!

  3. Ack! The Eternity Cure and The 5th Wave! I’m looking forward to reading your reviews on those ones, I’m so excited to get my hands on them!

  4. Oh my, this is a lot of books. I gotta get busy. Thanks for sharing.

  5. I finished The 5th Wave a couple weeks ago, and it is fantastic. Although I hate when I finish a book before publication and have to wait all the longer for the sequel!

  6. Looks like you all have been busy! I havent read any books by Julie Kagawa yet but she and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo are on my to-read list. Visiting from BookJourney’s link up! Have a great week! ~ Tanya.

  7. Have you had a chance to read Saga yet? It is so bizarre. It kind of left me speechless…in a good way! So much good stuff! Have a great reading week. http://wp.me/pzUn5-1qf

  8. So many great titles! I will be updating my to-read list with all those graphic novel series.

  9. Wow-so many. I quickly read through your reviews & like the idea of The Eleventh Plague. I’ll definitely look it up. Thanks!

  10. What great books! I’m a huge graphic novel/ comic book fan myself. Definitely love those… and I have a huge stack I need to get caught up on.

Looks like we used a common palette for blog design, too. I have some of those adorable aliens on my site :)

  11. Lots of books, I hope you all have fun reading them! Thanks for stopping by!! :)
    Cheers

  12. ooh, Cassandra Clare manga :) The only graphic novel I’ve read is Twilight Vol. 1 and I loved the artwork! It was incredible how someone could put that much work into a book. I really want to get my hands on The Mortal Instruments graphic novels. Love Cassandra Clare :) Happy reading!

  14. What a great haul. I’m not really into the graphic novel scene, but I keep thinking I need to give it another shot. I’m about to read my first Kagawa and I’m really excited about that. I’ve heard she’s amazing.

And I’ve also heard really good things about Breaking Point. I hope you enjoy both of them.

    Here’s my book haul.
